so im playing in a home game with some people. and i hold queen 10. flop comes 7 8 9 (suits unimportant) person before me bets $15 which was about 1/30 of my stack and he is known for trying to buy almost any pot he catches a piece of or senses weakness in, so i call. player after me calls. next card 6...jackpot. player before me bets, i raise, player after me raises. original better folds. i go all in. the guy took about 10 minutes to decide. he showed me his hand (he had about a 10 chip lead)he held jack-5. the national anthem is going off in my head. he finally calls...the river is a 10. he gets a jack high straight. lol
anything you guys would have done different? |

| I don't think there is anything you could have done different here except maybe go all-in first when the 6 hit instead of raising then going all in. The raise may have pot committed him. I doubt however it would have mattered. He married his low straight and then got lucky hitting the high. You were in great shape until your card was counterfieted. It happens. If both hands were flipped over before his decision, wouldn't you beg him to call? |

| Played fine, really. Perhaps going all-in earlier, but that is about all you could have done differently. He got lucky on the river, it happens - forget about it, don't change the way you play in future because that will pay off more times than not in the long term. |
